Menu created by Chef and Master Pastry Chef Fatna Bounaim of the pastry shop Il Buon Gusto. The evening will be accompanied by short readings from Ferzan Özpetek, curated by the bookstore Il Salotto di Bea, along with a selection of our wines.
We will seek to convey the poetics of the director and writer Ferzan Özpetek, who uses the laid table as a place of the soul—where humanity meets and is able to share. The banquet becomes a space in which to feel at home, to be sincere, where even the most uncomfortable truths grow lighter. Mezè is a Persian term meaning “taste” and encompasses a myriad of small, flavorful dishes meant to be shared among fellow diners.
“I grew up in Turkey, in a house with three tables: in the kitchen, in the living room, and on the terrace. Long meals together were important moments of encounter, sharing, discussion, joy, arguments: that’s how I grew up, which is why I tell these stories in my films.”
